Abstract
Previous genomic and transcriptional analyses of gastric cancer have revealed distinct molecular subtypes underpinned by hallmark signatures of genomic driver genes and expression deregulation. However, such analyses have been performed at the bulk population level, rendering it difficult to ascertain which cell types in the cancer ecosystem are responsible for specific gene expression patterns. In this study, I will describe how analysis at the single-cell level can provide insights into rare cell populations, tumor cell-of-origins, and heterogeneity of the tumor microenvironment in gastric cancer.
