Biosketch

Dr Gokula Krishnan Ramachandran is a research fellow at the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore.

Dr Gokula Krishnan’s research interest is in non-invasive diagnosis of gastro-intestinal cancers using Exhaled Breath and Metabolomics. He aims to develop a breath test for gastric cancer using Chemometrics and Artificial Intelligence to enhance the early detection of gastric cancers. He has two provisional patents – one for the invention of end-tidal breath collection device and one for the invention of novel breath sensing technology. He was awarded the Young Investigator Award by the 16th International Conference on Biomedical Engineering in 2016. He was also awarded Young Creators Award in the World’s Engineers Summit in 2017 and he was awarded the Silver Award in the Engineering Medical Innovation Global Competition (EMedIC Global) in 2017.

Dr Gokula Krishnan received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in 2012. He secured All India Rank 7 in the Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering with the percentile of 99.95. He was the recipient of National University of Singapore (NUS)’s Research Scholarship. He completed his doctoral training at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, NUS in 2017.
