Biosketch

Prof. Jimmy So is the Head and Senior Consultant of Division of Surgical Oncology, National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS), as well as Senior Consultant and Head of Upper GI Surgery Service, Department of Surgery, National University Hospital. He published over 150 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals. Prof. Jimmy So is the founding president of the Asia-Pacific Gastroesophageal Cancer Congress. He is also a member of the editorial board of Gastric Cancer, Journal of Gastric Cancer and reviewer for a number of prestigious medical journals including New England Journal of Medicine, British Journal of Surgery, Surgical Endoscopy and Digestive Disease and Science. His special interests are in gastroesophageal cancer and obesity surgery. He is the pioneer in endoscopic surgery for early esophageal and gastric cancers and robotic surgery for gastric cancer.
